The Agrifood Clust-ER focuses its action on strategic lines of research and innovation enabled through 4 working groups, or Value Chains, representative of the Emilia-Romagna agrifood system:

  • Sustainable & precision farming to strengthen the economic and environmental sustainability of regional productions
  • Integrity and nutritional quality, to promote food safety, quality, authenticity and traceability evaluating their role for human health
  • Processes, systems, equipment and packaging, to improve manufacturing processes and the quality of food and increase sustainability and competitiveness
  • Valorisation of agrifood by-products and waste to improve the sustainability – both economic and environmental – of the food production processes
